Polish My Life - Raspberry Roses

Happy Halloween!

Well, I find it funny that I’ve been doing Halloween manis since September and today THE actual day I’m not wearing one! Haha! Well, this mani is kinda Halloween themed, it matches my costume. Ok, it’s not a real costume just a silly skull headband. I call it my Witch Doctor headband, it has a giant sparkly skull and feathers sticking off of it. So on that note, check out my mani!

Whoah. Purple. Yaaaaaaaassssssssss! This is my first polish from Polish My Life (note: the website is currently closed until 11/3/14, she is on vacation). This gorgeous dusty purple is called Raspberry Roses. The formula is so crazy good, so smooth and opaque and just applies like a dream. This is 2 coats. She definitely has a new fan here!

Here is another pic of this baby because you need to look at it and buy it already. Purple is my fav color and crème polish is also my fav, so this one is making me very, very happy.

For the accent nail I chose Julep Sadie, they call this a “sea salt” texture finish. It’s like OPI liquid sand. I really like Sadie, it’s a basic black but with very fine silver shimmer. Great formula, this is 2 coats.

I also bought 2 other colors from Polish My Life so I will be posting manis with them very soon, I bought Peaches anyone? and Mauve Roses. Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween Skull King mani - Sinful Colors Neon Melon Julep Tazeen and Brandt

It’s almost Halloween Everyone!

So I did MORE Halloween nails of course. A few weeks back I bought the cutest skull charm on ebay, it’s neon yellow with a little gold crown. I thought it was a really great color combo with the black eyes so I came up with a matching mani. Check out my neon skull king mani!

For the pointer and pinky I used Julep Kate a white shimmer as my base, I used 2 coats. Then I topped the white with 2 coats of Sinful Colors Neon Melon, a highlighter yellow. It is very bright but not the brightest highlighter yellow out there, I love it! I thought it was a little thicker than other versions of this color.

For the middle finger I used Julep Sienna, a great neutral shimmery gold. Then I topped with 2 coats of Julep Tazeen, a full coverage glitter. At first glance Tazeen just seems to be a gold color but after a second look you see some green to it. The hint of green looks perfect with Neon Melon, I love how they look together.

I used Julep Brandt on the ring, 2 coats. Brandt is one of my most used colors, it’s the perfect off black crème. Great for when you don’t want just straight black, it’s got character lol. I applied the skull charm to a coat of freshly applied HK Girl Topcoat. It is so cute, I love it so much!

You know how sometimes you have an idea for a mani in your head and then it doesn’t come out good? Yea, well that didn’t happen here lol This is exactly what I was hoping for! I like how this is a Halloween mani but not your typical, and Neon Melon is perfect and I can’t wait to wear it in the middle of the cold winter when I need a little brightness to bring me out of the snow. Thanks for checking out my mani!

Lucky Lacquer - Teal We Meet Again - polka dots

Hey Everyone!

Today I have another Lucky Lacquer polish to share, Teal We Me Again. It’s a gorgeous teal crème, it’s a little dusty. To me it leans a little blue which I love :) It’s perfect for fall, check it out!

Isn’t it lovely? The photo with the bottle leans a little more green than in person, but all the other photos are pretty color accurate. The formula was great, 2 coats and perfectly opaque.

For my accent nail I used Julep Harley, a silver chrome and used a dotting tool to make polka-dots.

I have a soft spot for all the teals so this one made me very happy! If you want to pick up some of these polishes from Lucky Lacquer use my code STAR to get an extra 10% off your total order. Thanks for checking out my blog.

Lucky Lacquer - Fleur Rose chevron nail art

Hello my polish Friends!

It’s Monday……uggggghhhhhhh. I work Monday-Friday (yuck) so I wanted to wear something cheery to start the work week! I recently purchased some beautiful cremes from Lucky Lacquer after seeing swatches over on Instagram. Bright cremes always get me lol These are perfect for a Monday. I couldn’t decide which to try first so I kinda just went with them all haha

This is Fleur Rose, a very bright salmon pink. It is definitely brighter in person but one of those shades my camera just can’t capture. It’s not quite neon, just shy of neon. Formula was nice and creamy, this is 2 coats.

For the base of the accent nails I used 2 coats of Alpine Phlox, a pale nude pink with a hint of purple. Can’t wait to wear this one on it’s own!

I don’t consider myself that great at freehand nail art but I think I did ok with this one, I purposely picked a design that wasn’t supposed to be super straight haha

The other colors I used in the accent nails are Dahlia a cool purple magenta, Teal We Meet Again a blue leaning teal, Fleur Rose, and Alpine Phlox.

Colors from Left to Right: Teal We Meet Again, Dahlia, Sweet Pea (not used in this mani), Alpine Phlox, and Fleur Rose

I’m so excited to wear all these colors again, they are so pretty and great cremes. If you want to pick up some of these polishes from Lucky Lacquer use my code STAR to get an extra 10% off your total order whooo hooooo I love discounts!

Gridlock Lacquer - The Aud - French Connection Buffalo Sabres nail art

Hi Everyone!

Today I have a gorgeous glitter, The Aud, from Gridlock Lacquer. It is named for the old Buffalo Sabres arena and is full of gold and blue glitter for the Sabres colors. I’m so in love with this glitter! I decided to do a French Connection Sabres themed mani. Check it out!

Isn’t it beautiful? It is full of gold and blue glitter and some of the glitter is holo so it’s very sparkly. Formula and density are great, I did a little dabbing to get it on the nail but only because I was doing a glitter gradient, it would apply very nicely if you were using it on the whole nail.

For the base I used OPI LAMB, this has become one of my fav gold polishes. It’s a satin finish and it a sort of ultrafine shimmer, so perfect. This is 2 coats.

For the accent nail I used Julep Ally, a royal blue chrome. It is so bright and rich! Very hard to capture the vividness in pics. This is 2 coats.

I added a gold fleur de lis nail vinyl from Vinyl It Up. I love how it pops against the blue.

I wore this mani for a couple days because I loved it so much, thanks for stopping by!

Julep - DeAnn OPI My very first Knockwurst and Different DIMENSION Big Bang - leopard animal print nail art

Happy Hump Day!

Lately I’ve been loving doing 2 accents nails, my middle and ring fingers. I dunno why but I can only seem to come up with manis using this look lol So, check out my latest haha

I chose Julep DeAnn, a loganberry cream for my thumb, pointer, and pinky. It’s a beautiful color, formula was so-so. I added thinner to it since it was a little thick, that helped some but it also wanted to flood my cuticles while still being thick-ish. Weird. This is 2 coats.

For my ring base color I used OPI My very first Knockwurst. I love this color, it’s a pinkish beige cream, such a great neutral. Formula is good, this is 2 coats. I used Different DIMENSION Big Bang as the center dots for my leopard spots and Sinful Colors Black on Black for the outer ring.

I’ve been using Different DIMENSION Big Bang a lot since I got it, it’s just amazing! I used 2 coats on my middle finger, it is that dense and opaque. My goodness I love this polish.

While I was doing this mani I was feeling iffy on it, but then it all came together in the end and I loved how it came out!

Bonus pics! Yesterday I got some nail mail from Gridlock Lacquer, I ordered The Aud, Westside Warriors, Kaisertown, and BuffaLove. How great do they look!!! Can’t wait to use these.

My second package was from Vinyl it Up. More nail vinyls yaaaaaaaaayyyyy! I think I’m most excited to use the little mustaches haha!

Julep Ledi and Casper Halloween Ghost Glow in the dark nail art

Hi my Little Ghouls,

Another Halloween mani! As soon as I saw Julep Ledi, a black microshimmer, I knew it would be at home in a Halloween mani. It’s so bewitching... Sometimes I really really hate myself.

Check out what I did!

Julep Ledi is a black with silver microshimmer. It’s a great color, black but with a little extra. The formula was good, this is 2 coats. If I was cool, Ledi would be a good color for a Slipknot concert.

For my accent nails I layered a glow in the dark shimmer Julep Casper (great name!) over Julep Kate. I didn’t expect Casper to be so pretty in light! It’s almost pearly shimmer with some subtle silver shimmer. I used 2 coats of Julep Kate and 2 coats of Casper layered over, awwww shit.

I freehanded my ghost and Boo! with Ledi. Ledi is pretty opaque so it worked great for layering over white. I was pretty happy with my freehand letters haha, normally I’m pretty terrible at writing words on my nails. I deserve a pat on the back.

Look at my little ghost! I love how it glows in the dark! He’s not the best looking ghost but I love him just the same. Did you know ghosts are like snowflakes? They're all unique.

This was my first glow in the dark mani and I can see why people love doing these, it’s so fun to check out your work in the dark haha!

Julep Jameson and Gianna Fall mani

Hey Everyone!

I went wine tasting in Keuka, NY and of course I wanted to do something Fall-ish and wine like. I went with the obvious choice of a burgundy type color.

Here is my mani!

I chose Julep Jameson, a burgundy crème with some brown to it. The color is pretty but like these colors can be it was a little runny and wanted to run off of the high parts of the nail and pool in the creases. I did 2 coats and you do have to look hard for the imperfections but I think there are better choices if you want this color. I have OPI Skyfall and that is way nicer formula wise.

For my accent nails, I layered Julep Gianna a jagged gold topper over Jameson. I’m not a huge fan of the jagged glitters but I do like this one, I think it looks good with Jameson. This is one coat and it applies nicely for being such a chunky glitter.

I added 2mm gold square studs, I got them from ebay.

Even though Jameson’s formula was lacking, I still liked this mani! It was perfect for wine and beer tasting. Thanks for stopping by!
