Nails Inc Jermyn Street and Julep Katerina mauve mani!

Hey Everyone!

I felt like being classy………………so I decided on a mauve, that’s classy right? Nails Inc Jermyn Street was perfect for this super classy occasion.

Check out how much of a lady I am.

I really dig Nails Inc formula and Jermyn Street was great like my others. It’s a beautiful mauve cream that has some red tones to it, it dries a little darker than in the bottle and I think it would flatter most skin tones. This is 2 coats.

For the middle and ring fingers I applied one coat of Julep Katerina, a pink/gold flake top coat. Love this one! It was a little thick but easy to apply.

On the pinky I applied 3 1.5mm opal like nail jewels that I got on ebay.

So I tried to be classy, I really really did, but in the end I couldn’t resist adding a little glitter and bling. You just can’t take my glitter away lol Stay classy gals.

Julep Briana and Dana - blue and white chevron nail art

Hey All!

My Julep October 2014 Black Magic Collection polish lover upgrade box arrived right before I left for vacation a couple weeks ago, I was sad I would have to wait to play with them butttttt I WAS leaving for vacation so I wasn’t that sad, come on now haha. There are some beauties in this collection but Briana and Dana inspired me first. I was feeling like some Chevrons…….

Julep Briana is a bright navy crème, it’s much brighter than Julep Michelle if you have that one. I love blue cremes! And this one is perfection, sometimes they can be very dark and look black most of the time but Briana looks navy blue at every angle. This is 2 coats, it applied very nicely.

Dana is a white base with ultrafine blue shimmer. This is a black light reactive polish but sadly I don’t have a black light to test it. If you would have caught me when I was 15 I definitely had a black light AND a lava lamp in my room lol I was cool. Who remembers the store New Age Creations?! I’m really digging Dana, the blue shimmer is subtle but very pretty especially in the sun. It covered pretty well with 2 coats but you could see a few patchy spots so I added a 3rd coat. Maybe a touch thick but nothing too bad.

I used some 2mm blue jewels from ebay on the middle accent finger.

On the ring finger I used chevron nail vinyls from Vinyl It Up, these are the mini size. I love this size! I have small nail beds so this size gives me lots of chevron pattern.

Overall I adore this mani! I like the way the dark blue and white play off of each other. Thanks for stopping by!

The Originals CW Klaus nail art - OPI Do You Have this Color in Stock-holm and My Voice is a Little Norse

Hey my Little Vampires ;P

(note: I did this mani 2 weeks ago so my nails are longer here)

Guess what today is?! It's Monday and that means there is a new Epi of of The Originals on tonight! It’s a spin-off series of The Vampire Diaries. I’m so excited I made some Originals inspired nail art lol shocked aren’t ya?

The main character Klaus Mikaelson is an “original” vampire aka one of the very first and he is also the first werewolf! He’s a crazy hybrid who does terrible awful things to everyone but then in the next episode they make you love him again. I’m sure it’s because he’s so cute lol. The Originals is set in New Orleans and since Klaus is always trying to be in charge of everyone and everything I went with a King theme. I used a purple to represent New Orleans.

Check out what I did.

The purple is OPI Do You Have this in Stock-holm from the Nordic collection. It’s a super saturated ultraviolet, I love it! This is 2 coats and it was perfectly opaque.

For the base on the middle I used Sinful Colors Black on Black, it’s my go-to black crème. This is 2 coats. I layered OPI My Voice is a Little Norse, also from the Nordic collection. It’s a gunmetal silver and holo sparkle topper.

On the ring I added a little silver and jewel crown I got from ebay. I think they were 10 for $1.30 shipped, can’t go wrong at that price lol

Here is Glisten & Glow HK Girl topcoat. It’s my fav topcoat.

I know the Originals theme is kinda subtle with this mani lol but I’m so happy with how this came out!

Vampire Diaries nail art water decal mani - It's the season 6 premiere!

Hey Vampires,

Today is a very great day, it’s the season 6 premiere of one of my fav shows – The Vampire Diaries! Yaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy!!! 2 words, Ian. Somerhalder. Be still my heart. Ian and I are in a long-term long-distance relationship, he just doesn’t know it yet.

I wanted to do a Vampire Diaries themed mani but I’m not the greatest at freehand nail art haha So I decided to try making my own water nail decals. This was my first attempt and I think I did good! I bought a pack of waterslide decal/temporary tattoo paper Papilio Inkjet Clear Waterslide Decal Paper 10 Sheets and a clear coat fix spray Krylon 6-Ounce Crystal Clear Acrylic Coating Aerosol Spray. They were super easy to make, I just found the images I wanted on the old google, cropped and shrank them to the size of my nail beds, printed, sprayed with clear coat and cut to fit! You submerge them in water and then the decal part slips off the paper backing and you position onto the nail. You have a lot of time to get them to lay how you want, which was nice since this was my first time trying them.

Here is how it came out!

I painted a white base, Julep Kate, on all nails added topcoat and let dry completely. The decal is clear so for the colors to pop they need to be on a base color. You can use white decal paper which may have worked better for these full nail images. I may end up picking up some of the white paper to do more of these and use the clear for small images that don’t cover the whole nail.

I didn’t use topcoat for the photos since the shine might have made it hard to photograph the images. They’re not perfect and a little blurry but I kind of expected that since they are such a small image. I had to do a lot of clean-up once I applied them to remove the white base coat from showing around the edges. I pushed the acetone soaked brush a little under the edges of the decal to get as much white off as I could.

TVD logo on the thumb. I sealed the free edge with black polish because the white tip was annoying me lol you can kind of see it but whatevs.

It’s Stefan Salvatore! His print is a little more fuzzy than the others but he is still handsome.

Elena Gilbert in the middle of a Salvatore brother sandwich, color me jealous! This nail probably came out the best, it doesn’t look as blurry as the others.

Mini Damon Salvatore! He’s so dreamy…………he has been staring at me all day and I’m loving every minute of it. See you tonight Damon ;)

I didn’t know what to do with the last nail so I chose the obligatory blood splatters, probably from Damon eating some innocent.

I love my Vampire Diaries mani! I have so many ideas for more, I sense an all Damon themed mani in my future. Thanks for looking!

Gridlock Lacquer - Chocolate Stout from the Beer and Wine Collection

Hey my Friends!

Today I have another delicious looking color lol from the Beer & Wine Collection by Gridlock Lacquer, Chocolate Stout. This polish is a great chocolatey brown shimmer.

Check out how I wore it.

This is 2 coats of Chocolate Stout, it has a great smooth formula and covers nicely.

Doesn’t it have a warm chocolate feel?

For my accent nail I used Julep Nessa for the golden beer color and Julep Bunny for the foam. I applied matte top coat and then drops of shiny topcoat to make it look like the glass was sweating. It showed up better in person.

This is a great neutral for Fall, while wearing I had the urge to spend all day in a dark pub and drown myself in delicious dark beers haha! Thanks for stopping by!

(This polish was provided to me for review.)

Gridlock Lacquer - Make Wine Not War from The Beer and Wine Collection

Hey All!

I have another Gridlock Lacquer Beer & Wine Collection polish to share with you today! A gorgeous golden khaki green, Make Wine Not War. This color really came alive when applied, it looked nice in the bottle but on the nail it has a golden glow to it. Sooooooo pretty.

Check out how I wore it.

Ooooooo, ahhhhhhhhhh. This is a very ME color, I love anything that reminds me of Fall colors and this just looks like the sun shining on just starting to turn leaves. Wow, I’m a regular poet lol This is 2 coats, the formula was great and very opaque.

I’ve noticed a lot of the polishes in this collection have that type of shimmer that comes and goes as you move your hand, I love that! You can see it here on my thumb that is tilted away from the light source, it gets a little darker and mysterious.

For my accent nail I tried a nail outline with a peace sign over OPI My Vampire is Buff. My first time trying to do the outline thing, I think I did ok! These 2 are a great combo, the perfect creaminess of MVIB really stands out.

I didn’t want to take this mani off, I loved every minute of wearing Make Wine Not War. Thanks for stopping by!

(These polishes were sent to me for review.)
