Polishaus Sofia

Hey Everyone!

Today I have a gorgeous polish from Polishaus to share, no introduction needed. Let’s get into it.

This is Sofia, a magenta that leans a little purple. It has orange shimmery flakes in it, it’s so rich and vibrant love this one! It has a little bit of a thick formula but that didn’t really affect polish application, it still applied nicely. I used 2 coats, but if you applied more carefully than I did lol you could get away with 1 coat.

For the glitter accent nail I used LA Splash Lavish Lavender, it’s a clear base with purple and pink glitters. I applied one coat.

On the ring finger I applied purple jewels that I got from ebay.

So glad I picked up this polish and a couple others from Polishaus, they’re beautiful! Thanks for stopping by!

Julep - Kam Dana and Brandt - chevron nail art

Hey!

It’s Tuesday, which is kind of like the most boring day of the week. Tuesday lacks an identity. Since I am actually bored here on this Tuesday, here is my break-down of the week.
- Mondays are universally hated. I’m pretty sure you can say Monday in any corner of the world and you’d be met with the stank eye.
- Tuesdays – see opening paragraph.
- Wednesdays are hump day signaling you made it this far might as well NOT kill yourself.
- Thursdays get you excited for Friday and a lot of people partake in Happy Hour or thirsty Thursdays. Thursday basically mooches off of Friday.
- Fridays need no explanation. It even has its own acronym and restaurant, TGIF(ridays). I think TGIF is the original LOL, just saying.
- Saturday is the best day of the week and everyone knows it. Nothing beats waking up whenever you damn well please Saturday morning and then going to bed at the crack of dawn after binge watching some Netflix alllllllllllllllll night.
- Sundays are accepted as lazy days and typically involve overindulging in copious amounts of homemade cooking, preferably by your Grandma.
So for this boring day I decided to do a bold graphic look to pump up my Tuesday, check out what I did!

For the main color I used Julep Kam, a vintage spearmint crème as my base. It’s got such a cool retro vibe, I did add some thinner since it was a little thick.

For the ring and middle finger I used Julep Dana as my base, it has a little blue shimmer to it very pretty. Then I used some right angle nail vinyls from at Vinyl It Up, these were sent for review. And they are awesome! I slapped on some Julep Brandt over the vinyls before removing to leave the chevron print.

Then I added some 2mm black studs from ebay.

Super happy with this mani! Definitely amped up a boring Tuesday, thanks for stopping by!

Julep Elisa - Mittens Mani nail art

Hey Everyone! It’s still really cold and snowy boooooooooooooo! So I decided a mittens mani was appropriate!

For the base on the middle to pinky I used Julep Elisa, a soft purple with very subtle silver shimmer. A really cute color.

The mittens are purple nail vinyls from Vinyl It Up, aren’t they so adorable? These were sent to me for review and I love them so much! The sheet comes with a few different styles but I was feeling the mittens with the heart shape. I used Julep Anne to make the “yarn” holding the mittens together.

For the base on the thumb and pointer I used Julep Anne, a medium purple crème and then topped with 2 coats of Nails Inc Tralfagar Crescent. It has a blue silver shimmer base with different sizes of iridescent glitter. I think I’ll get a lot of use out of this glitter for some winter manis, it has an icy feel to.

Only thing I’d do differently for this mani would have been to make the yarn a different color, I think white would have worked better but it was still a great mani!

Christian Louboutin Rouge red polish review!

It’s Monday again…………

I feel like every time I’m having a great weekend it’s gotta get all Monday-y on me. Le sigh.

Moving on. Today I have a much hyped polish to share, Christian Louboutin Rouge. I’ve had this polish for quite a while, since it was released and have worn it 3 or 4 times. I wanted to wait to give my review until I was absolutely sure about it, so many people question is it worth it? Why is it $50? Don’t you only want it because it’s Christian Louboutin? Well let’s look at some pics and then I’ll give my opinion. WARNING! This post is pic heavy!

The tall spike brush handle is designed after the stiletto, more precisely the ballerina fetish shoe. This polish is pretty heavy, but it’s meant to give a good polish experience like holding an expensive pen versus a mini-golf score pencil.

It came in a little 2 piece black box, super shiny like the shoes and a little red line splits the box in 2. Even though it’s just a little box it feels very well put together. The CL logo is embossed onto the box.

The formula……………. I can report it is Fab! This is 2 coats, it’s very opaque and pigmented. It goes on perfectly and the handle really helps with application. It helps me get closer to the cuticle line. The polish is self-leveling and very glossy on its own, but I did add HK girl quick dry top coat of course!

For the accent nails I added Wet N Wild Make them Boys Go Loco, a black jelly base with different sizes red glitter. I chose this to mimic the gradient on the bottle. Then I added 2 2mm black circle studs.

Is this polish worth the $50 price tag? More importantly, is it worth it to YOU? I can’t answer that but can only answer for myself and yes, yes I do feel it is worth it! I admit to originally buying this polish because, well, it’s Christian Louboutin! I loved the bottle design and thought it would be fun to wear on an upcoming trip to Vegas (PS it was lol). I didn’t expect to think it was “worth it” but the superb formula and gorgeous color sold me.

In reality, no paint for your finger nails is really worth what we spend on them but I equate it to owning a good quality clothing item that costs more than the average. Not only are you paying for better materials and design but you are also buying a “feeling” or an “experience,” and every time I’ve worn this polish it looks great and makes me feel good. So yes I am very happy I purchased this polish and I can’t believe it but I will be purchasing more colors!

I wanted to buy some while I was in Vegas at the CL store in the Venetian but they were sold out of EVERY color! I was so sad, so I haven’t purchased them yet. I was really looking forward to purchasing them in store. Sigh. I’ll get over it eventually and will buy them online.

Thanks for reading my review!

Lucky Lacquer - Dahlia leopard nail art

Hi Everyone!

It’s Thursday so that means Vampire Diaries is on and that just makes me happy. You know what else makes me happy? Leopard manis, the best right? And I have a new gorgeous polish from Lucky Lacquer to share. I bought a few LL polishes but I’m thinking this is my fav, it’s insanely gorgeous and a super great formula.

Check it out!

This is Dahlia from Lucky Lacquer, I just love it so much. I’d call it radiant orchid ya know the pantone color of the year. All the Lucky Lacquer polishes I have have a decent formula but this one was really decent, like wonderful actually. Almost a 1 coater! But really, I never do 1 coat haha But if you apply carefully you could get away with 1 coat with Dahlia.

For the leopard print I used a base of Lucky Lacquer Alpine Phlox, Dahlia for the inner dots, and then Julep Brandt for the outer ring. I’m gonna need another bottle of Brandt soon, I use it probably 3x per week for detailing. Alpine Phlox and Dahlia are a perfect match.

The glitterbomb is my fav glitter from DIFFERENT dimension, Big Bang. This is 2 coats of perfection, so glitter dense and opaque and you only need 2 coats so it doesn’t build up! Perfect.

Basically you all need Lucky Lacquer Dahlia in your life, it’s one of my fav polishes I’ve bought in a while! AND you can use my code STAR for 10% off your entire purchase at Lucky Lacquer. Thanks for stopping by!

OPI Steady as She Rose - MoYou London rose stamping nail art

Forever ago when the OPI Pirates of The Caribbean collection was released in 2011 I never bought Steady as She Rose, even though I LOVE these type of colors. It’s a muted lilac, in some lights it can look a little gray. I finally bought it and what in the world was I waiting for, it’s gorgeous! Check out what I came up with using some of the other colors from this collection.

Steady as She Rose is so soft and pretty, in some lighting you can see more purple. It is a little thin but I still got even coverage with 2 coats.

I did some stamping with MoYou London Biker plate 06 and chose some roses to match the name. I made decals by stamping onto a plastic baggie so I could paint them in, once they are dry you can cut them to shape and peel them off the baggie and apply to the nail. The black is Julep Brandt, and for the gray roses I used Skulls & Glossbones which is another color from this collection. I added a little sparrow for duh Jack Sparrow lol The green is Stranger Tides which could be my most fav polish. It’s actually the polish that really got me into collecting!

I’m so glad I finally gave in and bought Steady as She Rose, it is everything I thought it would be! I do have some similar colors but I’m just going to ignore that lol Thanks for stopping by!

Gridlock Lacquer - Kaisertown and Julep Jules unicorn nail art

Hi Peeps!

Today I have a very pink mani to share, sometimes you just feel like being a pretty pretty princess! Check out what I did.

This is Kaisertown by Gridlock Lacquer, it’s part of her Neighborhoods (of Buffalo, NY) Collection. I grew up in Kaisertown! I loved how this pearly retro pink looked on, it has some subtle shimmer to it. A very glowy girly color.

On the ring and pinky I used Julep Jules a soft carnation pink crème. I thought the creaminess of this color played well with the pearl finish of Kaisertown. I added a hot pink unicorn nail vinyl from Vinyl It Up and a 2mm square stud.

I got a lot of compliments from strangers while wearing this mani lol I hope that means it was a good one! Thanks for stopping by.
