Julep Jameson and Gianna Fall mani

Hey Everyone!

I went wine tasting in Keuka, NY and of course I wanted to do something Fall-ish and wine like. I went with the obvious choice of a burgundy type color.

Here is my mani!

I chose Julep Jameson, a burgundy crème with some brown to it. The color is pretty but like these colors can be it was a little runny and wanted to run off of the high parts of the nail and pool in the creases. I did 2 coats and you do have to look hard for the imperfections but I think there are better choices if you want this color. I have OPI Skyfall and that is way nicer formula wise.

For my accent nails, I layered Julep Gianna a jagged gold topper over Jameson. I’m not a huge fan of the jagged glitters but I do like this one, I think it looks good with Jameson. This is one coat and it applies nicely for being such a chunky glitter.

I added 2mm gold square studs, I got them from ebay.

Even though Jameson’s formula was lacking, I still liked this mani! It was perfect for wine and beer tasting. Thanks for stopping by!

Julep Neha, Margot, and Gianna

Hello my internet lovers!

I’m still working through my August 2014 Julep Wanderlust collection colors, so many polishes so little time but I’m almost done with them. I always thought Neha was pretty looking in the bottle but I was in no rush to use her. Well, she knocked my socks off! Julep describes her as a “sari magenta shimmer” and I agree, what a gorgeous glowy lit from within color. The shimmer isn’t really big so it just gives it a nice depth, sooooo rich. It feels more like a Fall or Winter color to me, but it still does work for August.

Check out what I came up with.

How pretty right?! This is 2 coats of Neha, I think it has a pretty great formula, easy to apply and self-leveling. I feel like it would be hard to mess up applying it, it just laid down nice and flat with no imperfections.

On the pinky I used one layer of Julep Gianna, a jagged gold topper. I’ve recently became a fan of these types of glitter, I still will only use them sparingly in a mani but I think they add some good drama! I did have to move some of the glitter around to make it look more even but it wasn’t too bad.

For my index accent I used Julep Margot. A gorgeous foily gold, this is 2 coats. This is another color I think paints well and is easy to apply. The jewels are from ebay.

And here’s my collage. I love collages lol

Thanks for checking it out!

OPI Nordic Collection minis - My Dogsled is a Hybrid and My Voice is a Little Norse stud nail art

Hey my Friends!

A couple weeks ago I bought the mini pack of the OPI Nordic collection and I was waiting for inspiration to strike so I could bust them out! I saw this mani by @meganelice08 on Instagram and it was instant love. I decided to use OPI My Dogsled is a Hybrid instead of a white base. First, MDIAH is such a great Fall color, a dusty green teal crème. It applied very nicely but I think due to the mini sized brush I had to do 3 coats, I think with the full size bottle it would only take 2 coats for full opacity. Dang those OPI minis! The original mani used a few different sizes of square and round studs and I didn’t have as many options so I don’t think mine came out as nicely, not bad but just ok lol

Here is my try!

Isn’t My Dogsled is a Hybrid pretty? It dried darker than in the bottle making it a great Summer/Fall transition color.

I used My Voice is a little Norse on the pinky. In the bottle it’s a very gray/gunmetal glitter but loses some of that darker tone on the nail, I do like it but I guess I was expecting a little more out of it. The formula was very nice, this is one coat. If you don’t have a lot of these types of glitters then I’d recommend it, but if you’re like me and have tons of these then you can skip.

I used 3mm silver squares on all fingers but the ring finger, with 2mm gold round studs on each side. The ring finger is all 2mm studs randomly placed. I needed one size smaller than the 2mm studs to make my mani look more like the original.

I think I did ok, but not my fav. I can’t wait to wear My Dogsled is a Hybrid again, definitely a “me” color. Thanks for checking it out!

Sally Hansen New York Fashion Week polish Vintage Confetti

Hey Internet!

The other day I was doing my perusing of polish on the web and saw that Sally Hansen was releasing limited edition New York Fashion Week colors, and Vintage Confetti caught my eye. I have nothing like it, it's a glitter top coat with gold jagged glitter, pink and black hex glitter and small red bar glitter. I thought it would be perfect for Fall.

Here's what I came up with!

I decided to use Julep Natalia, a shimmery metallic pink copper. WOW! I almost did not buy this one, but got it for less than $5 I think and boy do I love her! So rich and glowy, I already planned out how I will use it again :) On the thumb I used Julep Jules a pink creme. This is the 2nd time I used it, it's a pretty color but a crap formula it's too bad. I then used a nail vinyl to make a a a shape with Kennedy and added a 2mm black square stud.

A macro shot of Vintage Confetti. Love this!

Here's a close up of Vintage Confetti over Kennedy, I think they look pretty good together.

And everything I used for this mani. From left to right Julep Natalia, Jules, Kennedy, Sally Hansen Vintage Confetti, Glisten and Glow HK Girl top coat, Bliss Kiss Simply Smooth base coat.

Thanks for looking!
